Sarvavith Impex is based in a small village called Rayappanpatti, which is near Uthamapalayam in the Theni district. Our office is at 299/1 on Sakthinather Street. It’s a beautiful part of the state, surrounded by hills and greenery, which makes for a nice place to work. We focus on import and export, mostly dealing with local goods that come from the farms around here. Theni is famous for its produce, so there is always something to be moved. Our work involves a lot of coordination with trucks, warehouses, and customs people. It’s not always glamorous; there’s a lot of waiting around for shipments and filling out endless forms. We are a small team and we like to keep things personal. If you walk into our office on Sakthinather Street, you won't see anything fancy, just a few computers and a lot of samples lying around. We’ve been operating out of Rayappanpatti for a while now and we know everyone in the local trade. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but the work is steady and it keeps us connected to the land. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on getting the products from point A to point B without too much trouble. It’s a simple business built on hard work and knowing the right people to call when a truck is late.
