Muruganatha Vidhalayam

Muruganatha Vidhalayam is out in Tovulapuram, which is a quiet part of Theni. Most people around here know where we are. The school isn't anything too flashy, just a solid building where the kids come to learn. We start the day by opening up the main doors and letting the fresh air into the classrooms. Theni can get quite warm, so we keep the windows open as much as we can. You can hear the sounds of the village coming in while the students are working on their lessons. There's always a bit of dust because of the roads nearby, but we try to keep the floors swept. The staff here are just regular people from the area. They bring their lunch in steel tiffins and sit together during the break. We have a small area where the kids can run around when they aren't in class. It’s mostly about getting through the books and making sure everyone knows their numbers and letters. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to manage with the light from the windows. It’s a simple life at Muruganatha Vidhalayam. We don’t have fancy equipment, just the basics like chalk and paper. Every year feels pretty much the same, with new faces coming in and the older ones moving on to high school. It’s just how things go in a place like Tovulapuram. We don't try to be anything more than a local school.
