Udhayama Tea Traders

Udhayama Tea Traders is located in Wellington Bazaar, which is part of the Nilgiris District. Wellington is a small place but the bazaar is always quite active. Our shop is right on the main street there. It is a very old area and the buildings all look like they have been there for a century. We have a small front where people can walk in, and then a back area where we store all the tea. It is not a polished or modern shop. We have wooden counters that are a bit worn out from years of use. The Nilgiris can be very cold, especially in the winter months, so we usually wear thick sweaters while we work. We do not have a big corporate team. It is just a few of us who handle everything. We spend a lot of time packing tea into bags and labeling them by hand. It is slow work but it is what we do. The bazaar can be quite noisy with the buses going past, but we are used to it. We do not use any slogans or mission statements. We are just Udhayama Tea Traders and we have been in Wellington Bazaar long enough that people just know where to find us. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it is sunny. It is a quiet, simple business and we like the pace of life here. No frills, just regular work every day.
