Sonasree Food And Beverages is right in the middle of the Main Bazaar on V K Street. Being in the Nilgiris, we get some nice cool weather, but the market itself is anything but calm. There are people shouting, motorbikes weaving through the crowds, and a lot of dust. Our shop at 16/119 is usually packed with crates of different drinks and snacks. We don't have a lot of floor space, so we have to stack things pretty high. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when you’re looking for a specific box. We mostly serve the local shops and the people who live around the bazaar. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of our customers by their first names. It’s a lot of physical work, loading and unloading trucks in the narrow street, often having to wait for someone to move their scooter so we can get through. We aren't doing anything revolutionary; we’re just making sure people have food and drinks available when they need them. The Nilgiris is a beautiful area, and even though we are stuck in the busy bazaar most of the time, you can still feel that mountain air when the wind blows right. We just keep our heads down, count the inventory, and try to keep the customers happy without making a big fuss about it. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on moving.
