Seethal Tea Factory

Seethal Tea Factory is up in the Nilgiris, specifically in a place called Sogathorai. The post office is right there nearby, which is how most people find their way to us. It is a lot quieter up here than it is in the towns down the hill. The air is always a bit cold and damp because of the clouds. We have a simple building where we do all the work. It is not some modern factory with glass walls or anything. It is an older place with a lot of history in the walls. You can hear the machines humming from the road when things are busy. We spend most of our time just managing the leaves that come in from the area. There is no big office with carpets or fancy chairs. We just have a few wooden tables and some benches. Sometimes the power goes out when it rains too hard, and we just have to wait it out. That is just life in the Nilgiris for you. Most of the people working here at Seethal Tea Factory have lived in Sogathorai their whole lives. We do not really have a big plan or a fancy setup. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families. The smell of the tea is so strong that you can still smell it on your skin later. It is a steady life and we like the quiet of the hills.
