Nahar Hotels (Nilgiris)

Up here at 52 A Charring Cross, the air is usually a bit chilly, especially in the mornings. We are right in the middle of the action in The Nilgiris. If you walk outside our doors, you’re right at the junction where everything happens. I remember when I first started working here, the fog would get so thick you could barely see the shops across the street. We’ve had all sorts of families stay with us over the years. They come up from the plains to escape the heat, and they always look so relieved when they feel the cool breeze. Our place is pretty straightforward. We have rooms, we have staff who have been here for a long time, and we try to keep the place warm. The floors are wooden and they creak a little sometimes, but that’s just how these old hill buildings are. We spend a lot of time making sure the tea is hot because that’s what everyone wants when they get here. There is always a bit of chaos at Charring Cross with the cars and the tourists walking around, but inside it’s a bit calmer. We don’t have a big marketing department writing things for us. I’m just writing this because we need people to know where we are. It’s a decent place to rest your head if you’re visiting the hills. Nahar Hotels has been part of this landscape for a long time now.
