Kodanad Tea Factory

We are located at 4/306, over in the Pancard Division right on Ooty Road. Being out here means we get a lot of travelers passing through. The factory has been around for a while, and the air always smells like drying tea leaves. It’s a very distinct smell that sticks to your clothes. We have some old machinery that we still use because it works better than some of the newer stuff we tried. It’s a busy place, especially during the harvest times. We have locals who work here, some for decades. They know the process better than anyone. The building itself is quite large, but it's mostly filled with equipment and drying racks. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you walk in, you'll see people working and the floor might be a bit dusty from the leaves. That's just how a real factory looks. We deal with a lot of bulk orders that go out to different parts of the country. Living on Ooty Road is nice, though the mist can get quite thick in the mornings. It slows things down, but it's good for the plants. We don't do much in terms of marketing. We just focus on getting the tea processed and packed. It’s hard work, but it feels good at the end of the day when everything is sorted and ready to go.
