Coonoor Tea Estate

Our place is located up at number 92 in the Springfield Post area of Coonoor. It is quiet up here compared to the main town area. Most of our days are spent out in the fields or looking after the tea processing. The weather in Coonoor changes fast, one minute it is sunny and the next the mist comes rolling in over the hills. We have been working this land for quite some time now. It is a lot of physical work, honestly. Dealing with the plants and making sure everything is handled right takes up most of our hours. Living and working at the estate means we don't get out much, but the air is fresh. People sometimes find their way up to Springfield to see how the tea grows. We aren't really a tourist spot, just a working estate where things get done. The post office is nearby and that is how we send out letters or get our mail. It’s a simple life surrounded by green bushes. Every season has its own rhythm. When the rains come, everything gets very muddy and we have to be careful on the slopes. But we like the quiet. It’s just us and the tea plants out here. We don't have a big office or anything, just the estate buildings and the hills. We stay busy with the harvest and the daily chores of keeping the land in good shape for the next year.
