Tailer Cart

Tailer Cart is currently operating out of Room No. 232 in the Ab Hostal at Sastra University in Thanjavur. It’s a bit of an unusual location since we are based right inside a student hostel. Our space is basically just a typical hostel room that we’ve repurposed for our needs. We have our sewing machines and cutting tables squeezed in between the usual furniture. It gets a bit tight in here, especially when we have a lot of fabric rolls delivered. Being on the university campus means we are surrounded by students and faculty all day long. There is a lot of energy in the Ab Hostal, with people always coming by to see what we are working on. We started this as a small project and it just grew from there. We don't have a storefront or a big sign outside, people just know which room to come to. It’s a very simple and direct way of doing things. Sometimes we have to work late into the night to finish up an order, but we don’t mind the long hours. Thanjavur is a nice place to be, and being at Sastra University gives us a unique perspective on things. We are just a few people trying to make something work while being part of the campus life. It’s an interesting and honest way to run a business.
