Aakash Ganga Exports

Out here in CBD Belapur, things feel a bit more spread out than in the main city. We are over at Gautam Complex, Shop Number 50. It’s on the ground floor, which we are thankful for because carrying samples and files up and down stairs would be a pain. Plot 17 and 18 is where the building sits in Sector 11. Aakash Ganga Exports is basically just a few of us making sure things move from one place to another. The air here feels a bit different being near the water, though it’s still Mumbai, so the humidity is always there. Our shop isn't very large. It’s mostly filled with boxes and some old wooden furniture we’ve had since the beginning. We spend a lot of time on the phone with customs people and shipping agents. Sometimes things go smooth, other times they don't, and that’s when the office gets a bit stressful. There’s a small shop nearby that sells decent vada pav, so that’s usually our lunch most days of the week. We have a calendar on the wall that's a few years old but we keep it there because someone liked the picture of the mountains on it. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls or shiny floors. It’s just a place where we get the work done, pack the shipments, and hope the trucks arrive on time. It's a living and we don't complain much.
