We’ve been working out of building A in Tirupati Udyog Nagar for a long time. It’s tucked away on Sativali Road in Vasai East. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can get in the mornings when all the trucks are trying to get into the industrial estates. Our units are numbers 1 and 2. It isn't a fancy place with carpets or air conditioning in every room. It’s a workshop where we get our hands dirty every day. The floors are concrete and there’s always a bit of grease somewhere. We spend most of our time making equipment and checking parts. The guys here usually start around nine and we keep going until the work is done. Sometimes we stay late if a shipment needs to go out. We’ve got a small crew and most of us live nearby, so we know the local shops and where to get a decent cup of tea. Being in Vasai means we see a lot of rain in the monsoon, and the roof on building A sometimes needs a bit of patching up. It’s just a regular business. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just make the equipment and hope it does what it’s supposed to do for the people who buy it. It's a busy, noisy, and practical life here at Sativali Road.
