Our office is on the third floor of Raheja Arcade in Navi Mumbai. It is a big building and finding No. 317 takes a minute if you aren't used to the layout. We spend a lot of our time looking at screens and talking to people about freight. The district of Thane is always moving, and being here in Navi Mumbai means we are right in the middle of all that traffic. The desks are usually piled with folders and there is always a printer running somewhere in the background. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a map. It is a practical space for practical work. Shipping things around involves a lot of small details that most people don't think about. We deal with the customs papers and the transport logs every single day. The tea lady comes by twice a day, which is usually the highlight for everyone sitting at their computers. Sometimes the elevators in the arcade are slow, so we end up taking the stairs. It is just a regular office where we try to keep track of where everything is going. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It is just about getting the boxes and containers to where they need to be on time. The weather gets really humid here, so the air conditioning is always on full blast even when it's raining outside.
