Shegfried S V (India). We operate out of the Dattatray Industrial Estate, specifically Dhuri Phase-II in Sativali, Vasai East. It is a typical industrial setup where there is always the sound of machines or metal being moved around. Our unit is 26/27, and it is usually pretty busy from Monday to Saturday. The floor is concrete and often has marks from where we move the heavy equipment. It gets quite hot under the tin roof during the summer months, so we have these big industrial fans that make a lot of noise. We mostly just focus on our daily production and making sure the parts are ready for shipping. There is a small office partitioned off in one corner where we do the billing and talk to suppliers. You’ll see the staff wearing their work clothes, usually covered in some dust or grime from the machines. We eat our lunch together in the small space out front. It is not the kind of place that looks pretty for visitors. We have crates stacked up and tools hanging on the walls where they are easy to grab. Most people who come here are truck drivers picking up orders or guys from the other units in the estate. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished. It’s a basic industrial life, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the estate.
