Rahul Hindi High School

We are located on Tulinj Road in Nalasopara East. It’s a very crowded part of Palghar, and the street outside is always full of people, market stalls, and vehicles. Our school is a big part of the local community here, and we've been around for a long time. We teach in Hindi, so we get a lot of students from the surrounding working-class families. The building is tall and the concrete stairs are quite steep for the younger ones. We have many classrooms, and they stay full from early morning until the evening shifts. It gets quite loud during the shift changes when one group of students leaves and another arrives at the gate. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the old ceiling fans and the sea breeze when it actually reaches us. The walls could really use a fresh coat of paint, but we prioritize keeping the wooden benches and blackboards in good shape for the students. There’s a small, cluttered office near the entrance where we handle all the paperwork and fees. It’s a lot of manual filing and checking names in the big registers. We see the same rickshaw drivers every day dropping kids off and picking them up. Most of the teachers have been working here for a decade or more. We know the families well and have seen brothers and sisters grow up in these halls. It’s a hard-working place, and we just try to do our best.
