Pragati Shishu Mandir

Pragati Shishu Mandir is situated in the NRC Colony over in Ambivli. If you take the Yadav Nagar Road, you will find us easily enough. It is an older part of the Thane district and the colony has a lot of history. We have been running things here for a good while. The building isn't new, but it serves its purpose for the local kids. We have several classrooms where the children sit on their benches and listen to the teachers. The morning bell is a sound everyone in the neighborhood knows well. We deal with the usual daily stuff like broken chalk, dusty blackboards, and kids who forgot their tiffins. It is a very grounded place. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we think the basics are more important. The families around here are mostly working-class people who want their kids to learn. We try to keep things manageable for them. During the monsoon, the road outside gets a bit muddy, but we manage to keep the inside clean. It is just a regular school in a regular colony. We don't make big promises. We just show up every morning and get to work. The atmosphere is friendly and everyone knows everyone else’s name. It feels like a big family most of the time. We are just glad to be a part of the Ambivli community and help out where we can with the daily schooling.
