New 9 Amazing Garments is located in the Jai Gopal Industrial Estate in Dadar West. Our address used to be Old No. 19/a, but now it is New No. 9. Being on Bhavani Shankar Cross Road means there is always something going on outside. The estate is an old building, and it has that specific smell of an industrial area. Inside our unit, we have rows of sewing machines and tables piled high with different types of cloth. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have some fans going to keep it tolerable. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here; we just make garments and try to stay on top of our schedule. Some of our staff have been coming to this same spot for over a decade. We drink tea together twice a day and talk about the weather or local news. The stairs in the building are a bit steep, especially when carrying heavy rolls of fabric, so we have to be careful. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. We just rely on the work we do every day. Dealing with vendors and logistics in Dadar can be a bit of a headache with the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the pieces we are making and try to avoid any mistakes that would slow us down.
