Aman Photo Studio

You can find us in Balaji Nagar over in Narpoli, Bhiwandi. It's a small shop but it’s always got something happening. Aman Photo Studio has been the place where locals come when they need a quick passport photo for a form or something important. We have those big umbrellas and lights set up in the back room behind the blue curtain. Sometimes it’s a bit cramped when a whole family comes in for a group portrait, but we manage to fit everyone in. The computer we use for editing is a bit slow on rainy days, but it gets the job done eventually. We spend a lot of time printing out photos and cutting them down to size with that old paper cutter. It makes a satisfying sound. Outside, the street is usually full of people and rickshaws, so it’s never quiet here. We’ve seen kids grow up through the photos we’ve taken over the years, from their first school ID to their wedding shots. We don't use any fancy filters or anything, just try to get the lighting decent so people look like themselves. The walls are covered with samples of our work, some of them are starting to fade a bit from the sun. We usually stay open late because that's when people are coming home from work and remember they need a photo. It’s a simple life but we like being part of the Narpoli community.
