If you know Masjid Bunder Road, you know it’s one of the busiest places you could ever work in. Our office is at number 139, right near Zakaria Masjid, which is a landmark everyone in this area uses to find their way around. It is constantly noisy outside with the sounds of handcarts, trucks, and people shouting to get through the narrow streets. We deal with exports, mainly focusing on making sure our goods are packed right and shipped out on time. The building we are in has been around for ages, and it feels like it. There’s a certain kind of energy in this neighborhood that you just don’t get in the newer parts of the city. We spend our time checking inventory and talking to vendors who come in and out all day long. It isn't a glamorous job, and the stairs up to the office can be a bit of a climb, but we like being in the heart of the trade district. Being so close to the masjid means we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which gives us a nice rhythm to our work hours. We don’t have a big marketing department or a fancy lobby. We just have desks piled with papers and a few chairs for visitors. It’s a very practical way to run a business. We know the exporters and the transporters around here, and they know us too. We just focus on getting the boxes out.
