Mahadev Chemist

Mahadev Chemist is located at Shop No 2 on the ground floor of the Trilo building in Bhayander East. We are right near the Congress office, so there’s always some political activity or a crowd nearby. The shop is small but we’ve managed to pack the shelves from floor to ceiling with all sorts of medicines and daily needs. I spend most of my time behind the glass counter, looking for specific boxes or typing into the old computer we use for billing. The fridge in the back hums quite loudly, especially in the quiet hours of the afternoon. We get all sorts of people coming in, some just looking for a band-aid and others with long prescriptions that take time to put together. I try to keep everything organized, but sometimes the stock arrives all at once and the floor gets cluttered with cardboard boxes. It’s a neighborhood pharmacy, so we know most of the people who walk through the door. We don’t have a website or any fancy loyalty programs. We just sell what people need and give them their change. Sometimes we stay open a bit later if we see someone coming down the street in a hurry. The lights are those bright fluorescent tubes that make everything look a bit sharp, but it helps me read the small print on the labels. It’s just a regular shop in a busy part of Bhayander.
