Our office is at number 17 in the Modella Industrial Estate. We are right in the Padwal Nagar area, which is part of the bigger Wagle Industrial Estate. It’s a place where there’s always a lot of movement—lorries coming in and people hurrying around. Jay Shanti Mktg. Enterprises is basically just a few of us working out of this ground floor unit. We have a lot of samples lying around on the desks and boxes stacked against the back wall. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we manage. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to people who drop by. We deal with various products that businesses around here need. There’s a lot of paperwork, mostly invoices and delivery notes that get piled up. The ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve stopped noticing. We don’t do any big advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they’re already in the estate for something else. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on the steps and wait. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the factories next door. We keep it simple and try to stay on top of the orders. The chai wallah comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. It’s just a normal business day for us. We don't have any fancy corporate values on the wall. We just try to treat people okay and do what we said we would.
