Our place is Shop No 31 inside the Amrapali Arcade in Thane West. It’s right across from Vasant Vihar High School, so we see the school kids coming and going all day. The arcade is a busy little spot with different shops. We have a small space where we sit and teach. It’s not very big, but we make it work. There are benches pushed close together to fit everyone in. It can get a bit loud when the school bell rings across the street. We mostly handle things for the local kids from the neighborhood. It’s a simple routine of opening up, cleaning the boards, and waiting for the batches to start. The floor is tile and we try to keep it neat, but with so many feet coming in, it’s hard. We don't have a fancy sign, just the name on the door. People usually find us because they live nearby in Vasant Vihar or one of the other buildings. Thane has changed a lot, but this little corner feels the same. We have a small water cooler in the corner. Sometimes we run out of chalk or markers and have to run out to get more. It’s just how it goes. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s just this one shop. It gets the job done for the students. Most of them walk here from their homes after their school classes are over for the day.
