Living and working in Mumbai means you're always on the move, but our little firm here in Jogeshwari West is where things slow down just a bit. We’re over at 9A 203 in the Beheram Baug Parsee Colony. It’s a nice enough area, though the traffic on Beheram Baug Road can be a real headache some mornings. Our office is more about the work than the decor. You’ll find piles of files and a few computers that have seen better days. We handle a lot of local stuff for people in the Oshiware neighborhood. It gets pretty loud outside sometimes, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of calculators and clicking keyboards. I’ve spent more hours in this building than I care to count, especially during audit season. It’s not a shiny glass tower like you see in some parts of the city. It’s a real place where real people come to sort out their financial messes. Sometimes the lift acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which keeps us moving I guess. We try to keep things simple here. No big presentations or fancy talk, just looking at the rows and columns until the math adds up. Most of our regulars are just neighbors or small business owners from around the 400 102 zip code. It’s a decent living, even if the deadlines are a bit stressful and the humidity in the summer is something else.
