Calyxchemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited is located at Plot Number 102 in the MIDC area of Tarapur. This is a big industrial zone, and Plot 102 is just one of many similar-looking spots along the road. It’s quite a long way from the nearest residential areas, so most of us commute here every morning. The facility is mostly about the work; there are no decorations or fancy things in the office. It’s just functional. The smell of the industrial park is quite strong some days, depending on which way the wind is blowing. We have a gate with a security guard and a lot of concrete around the main building. Most of our day is spent monitoring the processes and making sure the chemicals and pharma products are handled correctly. It’s serious work, but we keep it casual among the staff. We’ve all been here for a while, so we don’t need to talk much to know what needs to be done. The tea breaks under the small tree near the entrance are the highlight of the afternoon. It gets very hot in Tarapur, especially inside the sheds. We just keep the water bottles full and stay focused on the schedule. It’s not a place for glamour, just a spot where people work hard in the pharma industry. We keep our records in order and make sure the deliveries arrive on time.
