We are over here in Badlapur East, specifically in the Shirgaon MIDC area. If you know the neighborhood, you probably know the big Pani Tanki nearby. Our place is at W-25, Shed Number 36. It’s a busy little spot where we spend most of our days working on buckles. Smirtlem Buckles (india) Pvt. Ltd. has been in this shed for a while now. The machines make a lot of noise throughout the day, but we’re used to it. It’s not one of those fancy glass offices you see in the city. It’s a real workshop. We have a small team here, and everyone knows their job. Usually, we start early before it gets too hot inside the shed. During the monsoon, the rain on the tin roof is so loud you can’t even hear yourself talk, but we keep going anyway. We mostly just focus on getting the buckles finished and packed up for whenever the transport arrives. There’s always someone coming by to ask for directions because the MIDC layout can be a bit confusing for people who don't live here. We just tell them to look for the water tank. It’s a straightforward life here. We don't do much besides the work at hand. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit during the tea break when the breeze is nice. That’s pretty much us. Just a group of people making buckles in a shed in Badlapur.
