Krc Exports

Our place is out in Mahalakshmi Nagar, near Alvanchery in the Mowlivakam area. It is basically a house that we converted into a workspace at 54A. We spend a lot of time packing boxes and labeling them for shipping out to different customers. It is mostly textiles and some small handmade items that go to different places far away. The living room is full of cardboard and tape most of the time. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the van blocking the road when we load up. We started small and just kept going. It is mostly family members working here right now. We drink a lot of tea while we work to keep our energy up. The floor is always covered in scraps of thread or plastic bits from the packaging. It is a bit disorganized if I am honest about it. But we know where everything is kept when we need it. Mowlivakam is growing fast and there is always some kind of construction noise nearby. We try to get the orders out before the monsoon rains start because the road gets very muddy and hard to drive on. It is hard work and our backs usually hurt at the end of the day. But we like being our own bosses here. We just keep our heads down and get the boxes filled. That is how we spend our weeks at Mahalakshmi Nagar. We just keep at it.
