Vijaylakshmi Luggage

At Vijaylakshmi Luggage, we stay pretty busy because of our location in Kadodara. We are tucked inside the Siddheshwar Complex, which sits right behind the main bus station in Sasane Nagar. Being so close to the bus stands means we see a lot of travelers every single day. People often realize at the last minute that their bag is too small or a handle has snapped while they were walking to the station. We keep a variety of luggage pieces, from small duffels to the big hard-shell cases. The shop is a bit tucked away, so you have to walk into the complex to find us. It is not a glamorous setup, just rows of bags and shelves full of backpacks. We spend a lot of time talking to people about where they are headed. Some are going home to their villages and others are moving for work. We have been part of this Kadodara neighborhood for some time now and know many of the other shop owners in the complex. The air usually smells like new fabric and plastic. When the buses pull in or out, you can hear the engines and the conductors shouting, which reminds us of how much people are moving around. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and making sure the zippers on everything work right before anyone takes them away. It is honest work and keeps us connected to the community here.
