Variety Store

Variety Store at Adajan Dn Gopipura 5 6 is a bit of a mix of everything. We started out focusing on one thing, but over time we just started adding whatever the local people asked for. Now the shelves are a bit of a jumble. You’ll find mobile accessories right next to household items or small electronics. It’s the kind of place where you come in for one thing and end up looking at five other things you didn't know you needed. The shop is in a nice part of Adajan, and we get a lot of families walking by in the evenings. I usually have some boxes sitting on the floor that I haven't had time to unpack yet. My daughter tells me I should organize the aisles better, but I know exactly where everything is kept. The shop has a big glass front that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, so it can get a bit warm inside. I keep a few plastic chairs near the back for my friends who drop by to talk for a while. We don't have a website or anything like that because word of mouth works better. People just know we're here at Gopipura. It’s a simple life running a store like this. You meet a lot of different people every day and you hear a lot of local stories. I’m just happy to keep the doors open and see familiar faces.
