Dk Computers

Dk Computers is up on the fourth floor, room 401, of the Yogini Building. It is a busy spot on Varachha Road, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. I spend most of my day looking at green circuit boards or trying to figure out why a hard drive stopped spinning. The desk is always covered in screws and tiny screwdrivers that I keep losing. My brother helps out when he can, but mostly it is just me. People bring in their laptops when they spill tea on them or when the screen goes black for no reason. It gets hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the building directly, and all the running machines don't help much with the temperature. We have stacks of old monitors in the corner that we keep for parts. Varachha Road is always crowded, so getting parts delivered can take forever sometimes. We tell people to leave their machines and come back in a few days once we’ve had a chance to really look at the wiring. It isn't a fancy showroom with lights and carpet. It is just a workspace where we try to make things work again. Sometimes a repair is easy, and other times we spend all night trying to save someone’s photos before the disk fails completely. We just keep plugging away at it every single day of the week.
