Umiya Stone Industries

You can find Umiya Stone Industries over in Village Zad, which is part of the Mandvi taluka. We are right near the bus stand in Zed, so there are always people coming and going nearby. It’s a small village feel, and everyone mostly knows each other around here. We’ve been operating out of this spot for many years. The work is mostly manual and involves a lot of outdoor time in the yard. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit or stay clean all day. We are usually covered in some kind of dust by the end of the shift. Being near the bus stand means we get to see the local life unfolding every morning and evening. It’s a practical location for our workers too, since transport is easy. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just handle the stone and talk to the people who need it. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when the rain turns the yard into a bit of a mess, but we manage to get through it. We just take things one day at a time. The office is just a small room where we keep the books and take phone calls. We prefer being out where the actual work is happening. It is a quiet life in Zed, but we stay busy enough.
