Trushna Hair Parlour

We are located at Shop No.1 in Jamna Chambers, right on the main Varachha Road. If you know where Laxmi Hotel is, we are just a short walk from there. This part of Surat is always moving, day and night. There is a lot of dust and noise from the road, so I spend a lot of time wiping down the front window and the chairs. Jamna Chambers is an older building, but it stays cool inside during the summer. I started working here because it’s a busy area and there are always people needing a trim. It’s a small shop, but we make the most of the space we have. We have a few mirrors and the basic equipment. Most of our customers are locals who work nearby or live in the lanes behind the main road. We don't have any fancy brochures or anything. People just come in, sit down, and tell us what they want. Sometimes we talk about the cricket scores or how the prices of things are going up. It’s just normal talk between neighbors. I like being on Varachha Road because you never get bored. There is always a truck or a rickshaw passing by. We stay open late most nights because that is when the workers finish their shifts. It’s a long day, but it’s what we do. Just a regular hair parlour for the neighborhood folks who need a cut.
