Triveni Marble & Grenite

If you head over to Pandesara, specifically near the Police Colony, you will see Triveni Marble & Grenite sitting at number 15. The place is mostly filled with heavy slabs of stone and there is almost always a bit of white dust on the floor. It is just the way things are when you work with marble and granite all day. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make space for new arrivals. The area around Mamulpet stays pretty active, and we get a lot of trucks coming in and out. It’s physical work, lifting and checking the edges of the pieces. Sometimes the weather makes it tough, especially when it rains and we have to cover everything up quickly. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small corner where we keep the ledger and a few chairs for visitors. The phone rings a fair bit, mostly people asking about what we have in stock. We just tell them what’s there. It’s a straightforward business. Most of our days are spent checking the inventory and making sure the pieces aren't cracked or chipped. It gets loud sometimes when the cutting is happening nearby, but we’re used to it. After years of being here, the local rhythms of the colony are familiar to us. We just keep our heads down and handle the stone. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Everything is about hard labor.
