Tokiyo Beauty Parlour

You’ll find Tokiyo Beauty Parlour at number one, Sai Ram Society, tucked into Sarita Deri Lane just off Honey Park Road in Adajan. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty calm compared to the main market streets. We like being part of the society here. The parlour is basically a converted space that we’ve turned into a functional beauty shop. We have the usual things you’d expect, like hair stations and a spot for doing facials. It’s not a place with shiny marble floors or anything like that. It’s more like coming into someone’s home where they happen to do beauty work. We keep the water heater going for hair washes and we have a small collection of hair clips and pins for people to use. Most of our visitors live in Sai Ram Society or the ones right next to it. We chat about the weather or what’s happening in the neighborhood while we work. It’s a very simple lifestyle here. We don’t use any complicated booking systems; you can usually just drop by and we’ll fit you in if a chair is open. The name might sound modern, but the way we run things is very traditional and straightforward. We just want to make sure you leave looking a bit better than when you walked in. It’s a practical, local shop for everyday beauty needs that is easy enough to get to.
