The Hair & Beauty

We have been running The Hair & Beauty for a while now over at Shop-4 near the Gandhi School. It is right on Sumul Dairy Road, so there is always a lot of noise and traffic outside with the milk trucks and people commuting. The shop itself is not very big but it has enough space for a few chairs and all our equipment. Every morning we start by sweeping up the floor and getting the towels ready for the first person who walks in. Since we are so close to the school, we hear the kids playing during recess, which makes the day go by a bit faster. It’s a simple setup with a couple of mirrors and some shelves for our shampoos and creams. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us doing hair and beauty work for the locals who live around here. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on Saturday afternoons and people have to wait on the bench outside, but nobody seems to mind much. We try to keep the place cool with the ceiling fans because Surat gets so hot in the summer months. It is just a regular local business where we know most customers by their first names. We focus on the work in front of us and making sure the shop stays tidy enough for the next day.
