Shweta Marble

Our place is at 812 Pandesara, right beside the Reliance Petrol Pump and just across from the Kiran Motor Service Station. It is a big open space because we need the room to store all the marble we keep in stock. Working with stone is a heavy, physical job that keeps us busy from morning to night. We spend a lot of time moving these big pieces around with the crane or by hand when they are smaller. The white dust from the marble seems to get on everything, no matter how much we try to clean it up. People from all over the Pandesara area come to us when they are doing up their floors or bathrooms. We don't have any big sales talk; we just show them the stacks of marble and let them see the colors for themselves. Being near the petrol pump means there is always a lot of movement nearby, which makes the day go by faster. We keep track of our inventory as best as we can, though sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have several trucks arriving at once. It’s a straightforward business of buying and selling stone. We focus on making sure the pieces are cut right and loaded safely so they don't break on the way to the customer's house. It is a lot of hard work, but we have been at this spot for a long time and we know the trade well.
