Shreenathji Marble Industries

You can find Shreenathji Marble Industries at 9 Kamrej Kailash Park Society. We are situated right opposite Valak Patia. It is a big, open yard where we keep all our stock. We deal in different types of marble and stone. Most of my day is spent outside, regardless of whether it is raining or the sun is beating down. Working with marble is very physical. We use cranes and pulleys to move the big blocks, but there is still a lot of heavy lifting involved. My boots are always worn out from walking on the rough stone and the gravel. People come by to pick out slabs for their homes. They walk through the rows of stone, touching the surfaces and looking at the patterns. I try to tell them which ones are harder to maintain and which ones will last longer. It is a lot of dust and noise when the saws are running to trim the edges. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning. We usually just sit on some plastic chairs under a shade to talk about the prices and the delivery dates. It is a straightforward business. We buy the stone, we process it a bit, and we sell it to people who need it. Most of our work comes from word of mouth in the Kamrej area. We just try to do a decent job so that people come back when they start their next building project.
