Shree Sattadhar Dairy & Mithai

Our place is over at Gulati Wool Market, number 9, on Varachha Road. We deal in milk, curd, and all sorts of sweets. Every morning starts early here because the dairy doesn't wait for anyone. We get the fresh milk in and start setting the curd and prepping the sweets for the day. The shop usually smells like boiling milk and sugar, which isn't a bad way to spend the day. We have the usual stuff like gulab jamun and barfi sitting in the glass cases. It’s not a huge fancy sweet shop, just a local dairy where you can get your daily milk or something sweet for after dinner. We have a few regulars who come in every single morning like clockwork. Sometimes we run out of certain things by the afternoon, especially during the festival times when everyone is looking for boxes of mithai. We don’t use any big machines, it's mostly just us in the back doing the work. The floor can get a bit slippery if we aren't careful with the washing. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but we’ve been part of this market for a long time now. Just a simple dairy shop serving the local street. We keep the fridge humming and the trays full as best we can.
