Shree Laxmi Dairy & Sweets

At Shree Laxmi Dairy & Sweets, you can find us located in the Rander area at Hingne Khurd 3C. Our working day starts very early, usually when it is still pitch dark outside, because the fresh milk arrives and we have to get everything ready for the morning. We have several large metal vats for boiling the milk and starting the process of making the daily sweets. The air inside the shop is almost always thick and very warm with the smell of boiling sugar and fresh cream. It is heavy, physical work lifting the big containers and stirring the deep pots for hours until the mixture finally gets thick enough. We keep the stone floors wet because we are constantly cleaning up splashes and spills as we work. People from all over the Rander area come in for their daily supply of milk or to pick up a box of fresh sweets for a family gathering. We do not have any fancy display cases or bright lights, just simple glass ones that show exactly what we made that morning. Sometimes we actually run out of certain items early in the afternoon and have to tell people to come back the next day. It is a busy life and our clothes always end up smelling like sweet butter by the time we finally go home. Hingne Khurd 3C is a quiet enough spot until that first morning rush hits us. We just keep our heads down and focus on making sure the milk is fresh.
