Bhestan 2 is the part of town where our shop is located. Shree Kanaiya Dairy And Sweet has been sitting on this corner for quite some time now. The morning always starts with the arrival of cold milk and the heavy lifting of the plastic crates. The display case in the front is full of different kinds of sweets that people like to buy for their tea or for family gatherings. I spend a good amount of my time wiping down the glass because children are always putting their hands on it to see the colors. The tiles on the floor are white but they show every bit of dirt that people bring in from the street. I keep a small radio in the corner but the reception is not very good so it mostly just makes static noises. People from the nearby houses come in for their daily curd or to buy a kilo of sweets if they have guests. Sometimes we run out of small coins for change and I have to run to the shop next door to ask them for some help. Bhestan is a busy area and the noise of the scooters passing by is constant throughout the day. The sweets look bright under the old bulbs we use in the ceiling. I have a habit of checking the temperature of the fridge every hour just to be sure it is working. (248 words)
