Shree Janta Ice Cream

You can find Shree Janta Ice Cream on Chapsi Bhimji Road in the Bhagal area. It is an old part of the city and the roads are quite narrow and dusty most of the time. We have been scooping ice cream here for a long time and the metal containers we use are still the same ones we started with. The shop is quite small so people usually stand outside on the pavement to eat. During the summer months, it gets incredibly busy and we are working until late at night just to keep up with the crowd. The sound of the metal scoop hitting the tins is something I hear in my sleep sometimes. We don't have a lot of fancy flavors like the big shops in the malls do. We just keep the traditional ones that people around here have always liked. Sometimes the ice cream starts to melt a bit fast because of the heat but that is just part of it. I have a small fan behind the counter that doesn't do much but it helps a little. The sign above the door is a bit faded from the sun and the paint is peeling in some spots. We don't worry too much about how the place looks as long as the ice cream is cold and people are happy. It is a simple life centered around this one small street in Bhagal.
