The area of Godadara 1 starts to get lively quite early in the day. At Shiv Ganga Dairy And Farshan we are usually up and working before most of the other people on the block. The milk comes in big heavy cans and we have to move fast to get everything ready. There is always the sound of metal clinking and water running on the floor while we clean the containers. Later on in the morning the smell in the shop changes because we start making the farshan. The oil gets very hot in the big pans and the air gets heavy with the scent of fried snacks. It is a small space and the heat from the stove makes it feel quite hot in here during the summer months. We have a few steel plates on the counter and some large jars filled with different yellow snacks. People often stop by on their way to work to get a little something to eat during their afternoon break. The floor is usually a bit slippery so I have to be careful when I am walking around. I have lived in Godadara for a long time and I see the same faces every single morning. We do not have any fancy signs or decorations in the shop. It is just the basics for the people who live nearby. Sometimes the fridge makes a loud buzzing sound that won't stop until I tap it. (251 words)
