Shakti Dairy Sweets

If you’re walking down Varachha Road, you’ll likely pass Shakti Dairy Sweets at number 25. We’ve been here serving the neighborhood for quite some time now. Our shop always smells like fresh milk and sugar. We make most of our sweets right here in the back. It’s a hot, busy kitchen, but it’s where all the magic happens. We don't use any big machines; most of it is done by hand, the way we learned years ago. We have glass cases filled with different kinds of barfi, peda, and other treats. People stop by in the mornings for their milk and then again in the evening to pick up something sweet for dinner. It’s a local routine. We know who likes what and how much they usually buy. We aren't a big chain store with fancy packaging. We just use simple boxes and paper. The floor is tile and we try to keep it clean, though it gets sticky during the festival seasons. Varachha Road is always loud and full of traffic, but inside the shop, it feels a bit more like home. We don't do much advertising. The smell of the sweets usually brings people in well enough. We’re just a family-run spot trying to keep the traditional tastes alive. At number 25, we’re part of the daily life of this street, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
