Shah Envelopes Manufacturing Company

If you head down to Road No 5 in Phase I of the GIDC in Surat, you will find Shah Envelopes Manufacturing Company at Plot Number 127. It is not a showroom, just a working factory space. We have these old machines that make a lot of noise while they fold and glue paper into envelopes. Some days the floor is covered in paper scraps and the smell of industrial glue is quite strong. We make all kinds of sizes, from the small ones for letters to the big yellow ones used for office files. It is hard work and it gets very hot in the summer inside the shed. We don't do fancy marketing or anything. Our customers are mostly other businesses or printers who know where we are. We have a small office tucked in the corner where the paperwork gets handled. The trucks come and go through the gate to pick up bundles of finished goods. We have been at this plot for many years, so we know the other factory owners around here well. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves with greasy hands. It is just how it goes in a place like this. We focus on getting the orders finished on time so they can get loaded onto the tempos. It isn't a clean or quiet job, but we keep the production going every day.
