Savani Laparoscopy & Surgical Hospital/Dr Himmat B Savani

Savani Laparoscopy & Surgical Hospital is over on Cinema Road, right by the Old Capital Cinema. This part of Surat, especially near the station road, is incredibly crowded most of the time. We are up in Meghani Tower, on the 216th unit. Dr. Himmat B Savani is usually here early in the morning before the surgeries start. The hospital has a bit of an older feel to it, which is common for buildings in this area. We have the surgical rooms and a few beds for people who need to stay after their procedure. It gets very loud outside with the trains and the traffic near the station, but inside we try to keep it as quiet as possible. The hallways are often filled with families waiting for news. It’s a lot of work keeping everything sterile and ready for the next surgery. We don't have a big lobby or anything like that. People come in, they sit on the metal chairs, and they wait their turn. The staff is always moving, carrying trays or checking on patients in the recovery area. It’s a busy, sometimes stressful place, but that is just the nature of surgery. We’ve been in this tower for a long time now, and the routine hasn’t changed much over the years. We just keep doing the work that needs to be done. The elevators can be slow, but everyone eventually makes it up to see us.
