Sainath Hair Parlour

Sainath Hair Parlour sits at Shop No-2 in the Gel Krupa Apartment building. This is part of New Triveni Society on Causeway Road, right in the Ved Road area. The shop isn't huge but we made enough room for all the essential equipment. We have two main chairs for the work and a small area for people to wait their turn. The walls have a few calendars and some old photos. We keep the scissors in a jar of blue liquid to stay clean. It gets quite busy when the sun goes down and people are coming back from their jobs. The New Triveni Society is a lively place to be. You can hear the bikes passing on Causeway Road all day long. We keep a stack of newspapers for people to read while they wait. The floor is a bit worn from years of walking back and forth. We have a small sink at the back for rinsing hair. The lighting is just a few long tubes on the ceiling that flicker a bit when you first turn them on. We use plain white towels that we wash and dry out back. It’s a simple life here, just doing hair and talking about the weather with the regulars. We don't use anything too complicated, just the traditional tools that have worked for us for years. The shop feels like home to us since we spend so much time here. We just try to get the job done right.
