Roopkala Hair Art

My shop, Roopkala Hair Art, is over in Nilambaug Society, specifically at B-13. We are located in the Hira Baug area, which is pretty close to the Diamond Complex on Varachha Road. It’s a busy spot in Surat because of all the diamond work happening nearby. I opened this place because I’ve always been good with my hands and cutting hair felt natural. We get a lot of workers from the factories coming in after their shifts. The shop is small and has that old-school barber feel to it. I have a few old chairs that are still comfortable. We don't do anything too crazy, just standard cuts and shaves. Sometimes the guys want something a bit more modern, and I try my best to match what they show me on their phones. It gets dusty outside on Varachha Road with all the trucks and bikes, so I’m always sweeping the floor. My younger brother comes by in the evenings to help clean up the hair. We stay open a bit late because that's when most people are free. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that move the air around. It’s a straightforward place where you can get a quick cut and have a bit of a talk. People know me here and I know most of them by name. It’s just how we do things in this neighborhood.
