Roopkala Beauty Parlour & Beauty Classes

We've been here at Dhanpat Flats in Althan for quite a while now. Being on the second floor means people have to walk up, but most of our regulars don't seem to mind the steps. It gets pretty busy in the afternoons when the sun is high and everyone wants to get out of the heat for a bit. We handle a lot of different things here, from basic threading to teaching the younger girls how to do proper makeup in our beauty classes. It's funny because the Althan bus stop is right there, so we often see people rushing to catch their ride while we're just finishing up a haircut or something. The space isn't huge, but we make it work with what we have. Most days start around ten when we open the shutters and get the towels ready. Sometimes the fans make a little noise, but that’s just how it is in an older building. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. It’s nice knowing the families around Althan. We don't really do much fancy advertising; people just find us or hear about the classes from a neighbor. My daughter helps out sometimes when the student batches are large. It feels good to see someone finally get a hairstyle right after practicing for weeks. We just keep things simple and try to get through the daily appointments without too much fuss.
