If you’ve ever spent time on Station Road in Surat, you know how chaotic it can be. We are right in the middle of all that noise and movement in the 395003 area. It is a very busy street with people coming from the railway station or heading toward the markets. Our shop, Professional Hair & Beauty Care, is right there on the main stretch. We get all sorts of people. Some are just passing through the city and need a quick shave or a trim before they catch their next train. Others have been living around Station Road for decades and come to us every single month. The sound of horns and shouting from the street never really stops. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more orderly. We have our tools laid out and the chairs are always occupied. It’s a fast-paced kind of place. We don’t have time for a lot of fluff. People want their hair done well and they want to get back to their day. The floor is usually covered in hair because there’s always someone in the chair. We sweep it up when we get a spare minute. It is a gritty, real part of the city. We’ve seen the shops next door change hands many times, but we keep showing up every morning to open the shutters. It is hard work, but it’s what we know. It is just life on Station Road.
