Mukta Beauty Parlour

You can find Mukta Beauty Parlour at 2/794 on the Main Road in Sagrampura. It’s a straightforward little shop right in the middle of everything. I’ve been running this place on my own for quite some time now. Sagrampura is always moving, and being on the Main Road means there is never a dull moment. I do all kinds of hair and skin work. It’s a small space, so I keep things very simple. I have my favorite scissors and some basic creams that I’ve used for years. I don’t go for those expensive brands that you see in the big malls. I think the regular stuff works just as well if you know what you’re doing. Most of my customers are women from the surrounding blocks who have been coming to me since I opened. We talk about our kids and what’s happening in the city while I work. Sometimes I have to stop to go get some chai from the stall nearby. It’s not a polished corporate place at all. The floor might have a few snips of hair on it if I’ve had a busy morning, but I clean up as I go. I like the independence of having my own shop. Surat is a big city, but here in Sagrampura, it feels like a small village sometimes because everyone knows each other. I’m usually here from ten in the morning until late evening. It’s honest, simple work.
