Mugdha Beauty Parlour

We are tucked away in Street No 3 of Krushna Kunj Society. It’s a quiet spot in Palanpur Patia, which is nice because Rander can get so loud during the day. Most of the women who come here live just a few houses down. We’ve been running the parlour out of this house for years. It’s not a big fancy place with glass doors, but it’s clean and we have good chairs. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break if there isn't a customer waiting for a facial. We do a lot of bridal work when it's the right season. The street gets a bit crowded with parked scooters in the evening. You can find us easily if you know the society gate. We usually keep the door slightly open to let some air in when the weather isn't too hot. My sister helps with the threading while I handle the hair cutting and the heavier stuff. We don't have a big staff, just us two mostly. It's funny how you get to know everyone's life stories just by doing their hair every month. We’ve seen kids grow up and then come back for their own wedding prep. It’s a steady kind of life here in Surat. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everyone leaves looking a bit better than when they walked in through the front door.
