Monalex Hair Art

This is Shop No. 2 in Swami Gunatit Nagar. If you know Bhatar Road, we are right beside the Rupali Naher. The canal is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. Opposite us is the Rupali Highrise, which is quite tall and easy to see from a distance. Monalex Hair Art is just a regular hair shop. I spend most of my day standing on my feet. The floor gets covered in hair by noon, and I have to sweep it up constantly. It is just me and some help sometimes. We have the usual mirrors and the adjustable chairs. Bhatar Road is always busy with scooters and cars, so there is always a bit of dust. We keep the door mostly shut to keep the noise down. People come from Swami Gunatit Nagar and the nearby buildings. I have some regulars who have been coming for years. They sit down and we talk about the news or the weather while I work. It isn’t a place for anything complicated. Just a haircut or a shave mostly. We open the shop, put on some music, and wait for the day to go by. It’s a good location because people can find us easily next to the naher. There isn't much to say except that we are here every day except for holidays. It is just a normal shop on a normal street in Surat doing normal work.
